Five Summer Raspberry Glen Amples
Pick your own Raspberries from your patio border or allotment. An excellent flavour from conical shaped berries which hold well on the canes and are so reliable to crop they have the Royal Horticultural Society seal of approval - an Award of Garden Merit. Raspberries are among the easiest fruit to grow and most rewarding to harvest. I eat more than I harvest for the family! These summer fruiting raspberries technically known as Floricane fruit on wood grown last year and require an annual prune to ground level in autumn of the stems which carried fruit this year. Simple. Glen Ample is a Scottish bred well known commercial variety too. Raspberries are upright stemmed stemmed shrubs growing to approximately 1.2m (4ft) tall and 60cm (2ft) wide. They may require some support to hold their
